Description:

There is something really special about double portraits of close friends. The models do not only interact with the photographer, which sometimes makes them a bit more shy than they usually are. But there’s a clearly visible connection among the two and it may even make them be a bit braver than they usually are. You could also say the friend really loosens up the artificial situation of the photo shoot.

From the Friends & India Series:

As the artist meticulously crafted the initial piece in the "Friends" series, set against the backdrop of Afghanistan, she discerned a nuanced interplay between two young girls captured by the lens. Intrigued by this subtle dance of connection, her fascination deepened with each subsequent stroke, leading to the creation of two more double portraits celebrating friendship. This compelling journey inspired the artist to embark on a new series.

Seona, the visionary behind these artworks, passionately believes that genuine human connections and the cultivation of friendships hold the key to fostering a more harmonious world. In her conviction, forging friendships not only proves to be a simpler endeavor than sowing the seeds of animosity but also yields far greater rewards. While this notion might appear self-evident, the tumultuous events unfolding in places like Ukraine and Syria underscore the urgency of such a message.

In response to these global challenges, Seona dedicates this series to exploring and celebrating the diverse manifestations of friendship that permeate every corner of the world. Through her art, she seeks to illuminate the profound impact that fostering connections can have, envisioning a more compassionate and peaceful coexistence amid the complexities of our global landscape.

India Series

The oil portraits featured in this series are the result of a profound collaboration with the accomplished photographer Anjan Gosh from Kolkata, India. Capturing the essence of individuals from rural and semi-urban India, the subjects come to life through the artistic lens of both the painter and the photographer.

In a spirit of generosity and social responsibility, Seona contributes a portion of the proceeds from each sale of these India paintings to support Anjan's private charity project. This heartfelt initiative aims to make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need, creating a meaningful connection between art and philanthropy.

Beschreibung:
