Description:

While painting this character from an Indian theater play, the second wave of Covid in India devastated the country. The figure’s expression symbolizes the situation: a beautiful country on hold. It is therefore dedicated to all the people of India who have been affected by the pandemic.

From the India Series

The oil portraits in this series are based on a close collaboration with photographer Anjan Gosh from Kolkata, India. The people portrayed are all from rural or semi-urban India. Seona donates from each sale of the India paintings to the private charity project by Anjan in order to help people in need.

Beschreibung:

Während die Künstlerin diese Figur aus einem indischen Theaterstück malte, wütete die zweite Corona-Welle besonders brutal durch Indien. Der Ausdruck der Figur symbolisiert die Situation: ein wunderschönes Land wie auf Pause gestellt. Es ist daher allen Menschen in Indien gewidmet, die von der Pandemie betroffen sind.

Die Ölporträts dieser Serie basieren auf einer engen Zusammenarbeit mit dem Fotografen Anjan Gosh aus Kolkata, Indien. Die porträtierten Menschen stammen alle aus dem ländlichen oder halbstädtischen Indien. Seona spendet von jedem Verkauf der Indien-Gemälde an das private Wohltätigkeitsprojekt von Anjan, um Menschen in Not vor Ort zu helfen.
