Sarah & Monika are best friends and it was a pleasure to see them together at the photo shoot. Of course, sometimes they also have not so good days together, but it seems impossible that anything could break the strong bond between them. This kind of friendship is really special.

From the Friends Series:

When the artist painted the first “Friends“ (Afghanistan), she noticed the subtle interaction between the two girls in front of the camera and felt fascinated by it. That fascniation grew when she painted the following two double portraits of friends and decided to turn them all into the beginning of a new series. Seona believes from the bottom of her heart that personal encounters and nurturing friendships are the key to a more peaceful world. Making friends is not only a lot easier than making enemies it's also so much more rewarding. This may seem more than obvious but apparently is isn't when looking at what is happening in the world, in Ukraine, in Syria, and in many other places. This series is therefore dedicated to the many forms of friendships everywhere.

Sarah & Monika sind beste Freundinnen und es war eine Freude, sie beim Fotoshooting zusammen zu sehen. Natürlich haben auch sie mal nicht so gute gemeinsame Tage, aber es scheint unmöglich, dass irgendetwas das starke Band zwischen ihnen brechen könnte. Diese Art von Freundschaft ist wirklich etwas Besonderes.

Aus der Werkreihe: Friends

Als die Künstlerin das erste "Friends"-Bild malte (Afghanistan), bemerkte sie die subtile Interaktion zwischen den beiden Mädchen vor der Kamera und war davon sofort fasziniert. Diese Faszination wuchs, als sie die beiden folgenden Doppelporträts von Freund*innen malte und beschloss, dass diese drei Bilder der Beginn einer neuen Serie waren. Seona glaubt aus tiefstem Herzen, dass persönliche Begegnungen und die Pflege von Freundschaften der Schlüssel zu einer friedlicheren Welt sind. Freundschaften zu schließen ist nicht nur viel einfacher als sich Feinde zu machen, sondern auch sehr viel lohnender. Das mag mehr als offensichtlich erscheinen, ist es aber anscheinend nicht, wenn man sich ansieht, was in der Welt passiert, in der Ukraine, in Syrien und an vielen anderen Orten. Diese Serie ist daher den vielen Formen von Freundschaften überall gewidmet.
